Kingfisher Ultra Witbier - Belgian White

Kingfisher Ultra Witbier - Belgian White
Alcohol Content : 4.6% v/v
Brewed at United Breweries Ltd. India.

Appearance : The beer pours bright yellow in colour. Medium hazy in appearance. A small head was formed. Head retention is low.
Aromas : Sweet orange peel aromas with hints of coriander and dry grass notes. No hop aromas. No malt flavors.

Flavor : The beer gives out light orange flavor with medium coriander flavors with herbaceous notes. No hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel : This is a light bodied beer.  High carbonation with low astringency. Aftertaste of coriander that leaves a dry sensation on the palate.

Overall Impression : The beer is Crisp and refreshing. The beer colour gives us a different imagine of what is actually inside the beer. It has a light orange peel flavor and as you take a sip along you get coriander flavors which is alittle strong that fades away the orange flavors profile. It leaves the palate with a dry grass notes and coriander that have a very unpleasant aftertaste. This beer style is a Belgian Wit but I am alittle disappointed with the flavor profile. I would give it a 2/5. Its not bad in terms of its refreshing character as it can be had during hot summers but it still needs to make a few changes if it wants to get into craft beer market. Kingfisher beers is No.1 in India in terms of consumption and also has a respectable position in the beer market. Im sure Kingfisher brewers will surely make some changes on the Witbier and give the craft beer audience a better experience.
