Saint & Sinner - Trapist Style Ale
Saint & Sinner - Trapist Style Ale
About the company : The brewery is situated in Sangolda, Goa inside a small 250 year old Indo-Portuguese house (something that you dont get to see everyday). Mr. Suraj Shenai is the founder and CEO of the Goa brewing company. He started of with homebrewing along with Mr. Ashtavinayak Paradh who at that time had just finished his PhD in brewing. GBC are non-conformists as they do not follow any particular style. They try to break the rule in terms of beer making to get their desired 'flavors'. They are open to ingredients hence that make them experimental with their beers. The art work on the bottle has been done by Daan Botlek a street artist from Netherland best known for his humanoids and simplistic illustrations.

Overall Impression : This is one of the best beers I have tried so far. A very complex beer with alot of aromas and flavors that will blow your mind. It starts off with the caramel like malt flavors accompanying the citrus flavor that enhances the body giving it a nice citrusy touch to the beer. It also had hints of red fruits and vanilla. The jaggery is one of the main component of the beer giving it a pleasant aromas and flavors. The jaggery aroma builds up as the beer get warmer. A very boozy beer for sure with 8% abv. I took small sips and savoured this beer and I gotta say this has made a special place in my heart. I would recommend to drink this beer at a little warmer temperature as it help you get out maximum flavors and aromas. This was batch 001 which was priced at 150₹ in Goa. Very affordable and rare to find this beer as its made in small batches hence stock doesn't last for long. One can simply savor this beer during cold winter evening and can enjoy it best during Christmas season. Cheers🍺
