Sol - Original De Mexico - Lager

Sol - Cerveza Original De Mexico - Golden Lager
History : Sol originated at the end of the 19th century (1899). It is said that the master brewer bottled the first batch of the experimental new recipe. As he stored the beers a ray of sunlight illuminated the glass bottles and hence the name "El SOL" - which means the Sun. By 1900's the brand became the new iconic 'SOL' which is very famously known worldwide.
Alcohol Content : 4.5 v/v
Brewed at Moctezuma Brewing Co, Mexico.

Appearance : The beer pours Golden in colour. A small head is formed with good head retention. Clear in appearance. Very effervescent in the glass.
Aromas : Sweet biscuity malt aroma with hints of caramel notes. Floral notes are observed along with low level of marijuana aroma on the nose. No hop aromas detected.

Flavor : The beer has a sweet biscuity malt flavor along with some low level of caramel and floral notes. Has a marijuana like character to it. Low level of hop flavor detected.

Mouthfeel : This is a light bodied beer with a crisp finish. Sweet malt character with hints of caramel notes and low hop flavors on the palate. No astringency detected. Aftertaste of the sweet malt.

Overall Impression : 'SOL' is crisp and very refreshing thirst quenching lager. This is a simple lager with low level of hops and sweet malt character which is balanced quite well. This is a beer that does have competitor like Corona Extra & Modelo in the Mexican beer market. Priced at 150₹ in Goa and an excellent beer to enjoy at the Beaches during summer afternoons. I recommend this beer to people who are fans of Pale lagers. Cheers🍺
