Beer style : NEIPA (New England India Pale Ale)
Appearance : The beer pours yellow in colour with a medium white head. Hazy/opaque in appearance. Head retention is good as it stay till the end.
Aroma : It has a marmalade and citrusy aroma as the beer was poured in the glass accompanying pomelo and grapefruit aromas. The beer has a tropical fruit aroma of mango and star fruit which is high with light peppercorn. It has a herbaceous character accompanying piney and resinous aroma at every nose.
Flavor : The beer has a light bready malt flavor with a clean fermentation character. Citrus, pomelo and grapefruit flavors are found which is high. Perceived bitterness is pronounced to assertive. Tropical fruit flavors such as mango and star fruit could be detected that are high. It has a moderate herbaceous character. Moderate piney and resinous flavors could be found at every sip.
Mouthfeel : This is a medium bodied beer with a juicy mouthfeel. Carbonation is medium. Astringency is medium. Hop bitterness is assertive but not harsh or overwhelming. Leaves a piney and resinous aftertaste which is more prominent once the beer gets alittle warmer.
Overall Impression : This is the 7th Year anniversary for Gateway Brewing company WOW!. The name itself would tell you alot about the beer and this is one of the juiciest NEIPA I have tasted so far. It has a load of fruity aromas and flavors. The malt has played an important role here by supporting the hops and letting it shine. The bitterness is assertive for sure but it is not harsh which makes it very drinkable. After every sip you feel like going back to the glass for more. The 'Talus hops' does stand strong on its flavor profile but with the 'Mosaic hops' it creates a bouquet of flavors. I highly recommend all the craft beer lovers to try this and I assure you it will not disappoint you... Cheers🍺
